SCENE EXAMINED Gardai probing suspected arson attack after eight vehicles set alight in Co Meath car park

The scene has been held for a technical examination to be carried out

Gardaí have launched an investigation and are seeking information from the public following a suspected arson attack in Co Meath that left multiple vehicles damaged by fire.

The incident took place late on Thursday night in a car park located just off Main Street in Duleek. Emergency services were alerted at approximately 10.50pm and responded quickly to the scene.

On arrival, Gardaí and fire crews discovered eight vehicles engulfed in flames at the rear of the parking area. The affected section of the car park has since been sealed off to allow for a full technical and forensic examination.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

In a statement, Gardaí confirmed they are treating the incident as criminal damage by fire and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the Main Street area between 10.00pm and 11.15pm on Thursday night.

Members of the public who may have captured video footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make this material available to investigating officers.
